Comment Notifier for Gawker Puts Lifehacker and Other Gawker Sites' Notifications in Chrome [Downloads]

Melanie Pinola ?Comment Notifier for Gawker Puts Lifehacker and Other Gawker Sites' Notifications in ChromeChrome: Lifehacker reader Benjamin Dykstra, a.k.a. jetRink, has published a nifty Chrome extension that notifies you when you get new follower or replies to your comments on the whole family of Gawker sites. Another handy feature is the ability to save discussion threads.

If you're an active member of our community and/or Gizmodo, io9, Kotaku, Jalopnik, Gawker, Jezebel, and Deadspin, this unofficial extension will let you view all replies to your comments regardless of what site you're on. The toolbar icon will show the number of new notifications and you can optionally get desktop notifications as well.

In addition to seeing your comment threads from the extension dropdown, you'll also be able to see new followers and save specific threads in the extension. In my testing, the followers update was a bit delayed, but Ben says it's best to have that update in 60-minute intervals. Reloading the extension will perform a check right away. Good job, Ben!
