Family Fun Days @ The Rock Ranch : Muscogee Moms

Fall is a great time of year to experience The Rock Ranch. All the colors of the season create a beautiful setting for loads of memorable family fun. Take a look at some of the great events during our Fall Family Fun Days!

Fall Family Fun Days admission: $14 (unless otherwise noted below)
(open Saturdays, Sept. 24 ? Nov. 12, 10 am to 9 pm)
Zip line rides are $7 or $12
Kids 3 and under are FREE!

Sept. 24 ? Fall Family Fun Days Corn Maze Kick Off
This date will feature a visit from an official astronaut who will speak about his experiences in space and meet and greet with guests. A team from NASA will be on hand to facilitate educational activities that include a mobile planetarium, unique photo opportunities, stomp rockets, space food demonstrations and more. This event includes a high school cross country competition in the morning and a public 5k ?Space Race? at 11 a.m. that is $30 per runner. This date also serves as Media Day (all members of the media, with credentials, and their families enter free of charge) and will enjoy a special reception at 5 p.m.

October 1 ? Growing Up Green with Bob and Larry of VeggieTales?
Guests can have their photos made with the popular Veggie Tales characters. Various displays and demonstrations will provide information about ?green? topics such as alternative energy, recycling, composting, solar and wind power and more. A favorite activity of this event is the ?Veggie 500 Race? where guests work in teams to build and race cars made of vegetables. Special guests for this event are the Girl Scouts of America. Discount tickets are available for Girl Scout groups by contacting The Rock Ranch office by e-mail or phone.

This event is also Teacher Appreciation Day. All public or private school teachers with a valid school ID receive half price admission for up to 4 guests. It is also Home School Appreciation Day. All homeschoolers and their parents receive half off the price of admission with proof of home school status ? discount good for up to 4 guests.

October 8 ? The Official Georgia Day of the Cowboy
This event offers fun for the whole family and pays tribute to the cowboy way. Guests will enjoy shows by Los Pistoleros, a group of cowboy stunt performers who will rob the train and engage in gun fights. There will be mounted drill teams, quick draw demonstrations, a trick horse, a large model train display and live country music. Guests will enjoy vendors selling western wear, watch an action packed wild west show with shooting and knife throwing and a Hop-A-Long Cassidy look alike. Don?t miss out on the?cowboy costume contest! Cash, prizes and trophies will be awarded to those who look the part of ?cowboy? or ?cowgirl.?

October 15 ? Hot Air Balloon Rally
This event features many beautiful hot air balloons that will participate in competition flights and the Ferrell Gas ?balloon glow? after dark. Tethered rides will be available for guests in the evening, if weather permits ($5 for children, $10 for adults). This event features competitions in the morning and evening. Guests will watch as 20 beautiful hot air balloons fill the skies of The Rock, GA.

October 22 ? The Great Outdoor Adventure
Guests will have a chance to participate in canoe races, archery shooting (bows provided), zip line games and scavenger hunts. There will be professional chainsaw carving demonstrations throughout the day and a special treat of live music. The evening will feature a concert by rising star Jamie Grace Harper. Jamie, signed under Toby Mac?s Gotee Records, will perform a concert featuring hit song, Hold Me. This concert is free with regular admission.

October 29 ? The ?Not-So-Spooky? Halloween Festival
Guests will enjoy pumpkin carving and painting, a costume parade and a costume contest. Pets can dress up, too! Entertainment includes amazing shows by Mark Muir and his world champion Frisbee dog team. Families can trick-or-treat at stations all over the ranch. After dark, there will be an opportunity to experience the corn maze with no lights.

November 5 ? Pumpkin Destruction Day
Guests get assistance in the destruction of any unsold pumpkins or they may bring their own to recycle through fun methods such as: the pumpkin cannon, pumpkin bowling, the hammer smash and the 40 ft. lift crane pumpkin drop, among others. There will be airplane pumpkin bombers, monster trucks crushing pumpkins (and cars), plus a pie eating contest. Rides in a monster truck will be available for $5 per person. In addition to the trucks, guests will be entertained by a musical performance from rising country singer Catherine Kimbro.

November 12 ? The Kritter Jubilee
Guests will enjoy an insect education lab, a live cow milking demonstration, a Georgia wildlife station, and reptile shows by Jason Clark of Animal Planet. There will be Birds of Prey Programs and a photo scavenger hunt. Younger guests will enjoy meeting and taking pictures with special guest Curious George, character from the popular PBS program and books by A.A. Milne. Special guests for this event are the Boy Scouts of America. Discount tickets are available by contacting The Rock Ranch office by phone or e-mail.

Please remember, in order to ride the pedal cars
all riders must have closed-toe shoes!
