The magic of the movie the Wizard of Oz never escapes me. It?s all about the characters and the irony of life. The Wizard himself is just an ordinary man, neither great nor powerful, just a circus magician whose hot air balloon sailed him into Oz. I wonder what spin Walt Disney Pictures will bring to this character in Oz The Great and Powerful now being filmed a the Raleigh Studios, Pontiac, Michigan.
One thing for sure is that James Franco will be great in the starring role of Oscar Zoroaster Phadrig Isaac Norman Henkel Emmanuel Ambroise Diggs. He is no ordinary man himself. Movie star, soap star villain, teacher at Columbia with a PhD from Yale, Moma guest lecturer, this man is a skillful and talented multi-tasker?a truly magic man.
With three witches watching over him, be sure that Academy Award? nominee James Franco will be in for loads of excitement. Figure in CGI characters like China Girl and Finley, a winged monkey for a fantasy adventure sure to be a box office hit. Ethics, good and evil, resourcefulness, and trickery will make a shady small town conjurer into a true wizard and an even better man.
Oz The Great and Powerful is a prequel to the Wizard of Oz story. Look for its release March 8, 2013. Bet it will be the year?s box office runaway hit and receive many award nominations. How I wish I could be in Hollywood on its opening night!
